I began practicing in Southington in August of 2013.
The name "Community Acupuncture of Bristol" was conceived in early 2012 when a serious injury caused the closure of my original practice. I had been in practice for more than 11 years and in the same office space for the previous 8 years. I did not know when I would return to practicing full-time, but a small office was available to me in Bristol and I wanted to continue with a group treatment community clinic despite the small office.
I have been in the Bristol office since May of 2012.In early 2013 I was approached by a massage therapist colleague who was opening an office in downtown West Hartford. She (Erica Grossman) was bringing in a chiropractor (Jenn Veit) with whom I had worked in my very first office space in Tolland and in a connected office space in West Hartford.
Erica is a friend, former patient, and a massage therapist/doula/childbirth educator. Jenn learned from the most gifted chiropractor I have had the privilege of knowing, Sharon Vallone. Jenn's training and innate intelligence have allowed her to become an exceptional clinician who is beloved by her patients. The opportunity to develop a well rounded wellness clinic under Erica's stewardship was too good to pass, so my intentions to focus on Bristol had to expand into West Hartford.
I have been in the West Hartford office since April of 2013.
In June of 2013 I was contacted by another massage therapist friend (Cynthia Griffin) who had opened an office in Southington. I had only meant to see her new office space and exchange treatments (acupuncture for Thai yoga massage) but she introduced me to Julie Wallace, the founder of Bloom Yoga Fitness. Julie and Cynthia (who is an instructor at Bloom in addition to being a massage therapist) showed me the yoga and fitness studios on the first floor and the wellness center that was developing on the second floor. Julie shared her vision of a one-stop center for yogic influenced fitness and wellness. Again, I was presented an opportunity to join in the development of a wellness clinic under the dynamic stewardship of a fearless leader. I could not pass on this one either.
